Today we went to the Packard Museum in Maungatapere to look at how transportation may have changed over time and what innovations have occurred. It was a fascinating place and we saw and learnt a lot about innovation, why it occurred and the effect it had on life of that time.

Bikes in Schools
We are part of the Bikes in Schools programme. It is a government funded programme, research found that there has been a significant drop in the amount of children who actually ride bikes. It gives children an opportunity to experience this as well as learn how to keep safe on the roads. We had an awesome coordinator called Mr Bell.

These are photos of our Waitangi Trip. We have been learning about The Treaty of Waitangi and who we are as a nation. This gave our children the opportunity to learn more about our history and culture. Hauora
Our concept for Term 1 is Hauora
In Term 1 our concept is “Hauora.”
We are learning that…
Hauora comes from making informed choices,
Jesus guides us to live a restorative way of life.
We are very lucky that we have many outside agencies helping us deliver a deeper understanding of Hauora. We have Nadine from The Life Education Trust. We also have the keeping Ourselves Safe Programme with Constable Toni.
We are lucky that we have the Bikes in Schools Programme as well. As many of you are aware we have a bicycle track, each class will have 3 lessons on how to check and ride a bike, and also bike safety.
